Futari Mechanical Engineering & Design was set up in Sep 1993 after taking took over its predecessor Tritech Precision Engineering.

Futari started off with humble beginnings in small design office of 200 square feet and obtained second hand office equipment. With only two staffs in the company, we put in long hours of work in order to reduce costs and overheads. Because of the strategy of in-house design and complete sub-contract works, the turnover for the first 15 months was around S$300K.

The following year later, Futari took over a factory space in Bukit Batok Industrial Park - a factory area of 1,100 square feet. We moved our freelance workers and subcontact workers into our new premises. With potential growth of our business, we rented another area of 2,500 square feet for our new stamping department the following year.

In 1996, our business turnover reached S$814K. We bought an industrial property, of 3200 sq feet, worth S$780K in Tuas when the lease in our stamping department expired in 1997.

With new demands and trends in engineering industries, new ideas and strategies were brought up. Futari Technologies was setup in 2000 to meet new challenges with Eric Chong at the helm.

Mr Ben Soh, an experienced aerospace engineer, joined us in 2001 to enhance our aerospace capabilities.

Futari has grown and converted to a PTE LTD company in Feb 2007 with a paid-up capital of $400k, Growth in the Aviation industry is estimated to be in double digit figures for the next 10 years, and Futari has built a name for itself to be a significant player in the aviation field.

In April 2008, we have audited for the AS9100 Certification and obtained a score of 91% and awarded the AS9100 Certification in Jun 2008. It was upgraded to AS9100 Rev C - 2008 in 2012. Also in 2012, Futari obatined Bizsafe level 3.

In 2009, we upgraded our design software to SolidWorks to increase productivity as well as design simulation. A Design Engineer was added later to strengthen our design capabilities. We also expanded into mold design for electronic component carrier tapes, trays and cover tapes, providing designing solutions and manufacturing

It is a matter of time before Futari expands into other countries. We saw business potential in India and in early 2013, we set up Futari India to serve the Electronic and Automotive Industries. We started off in providing carrier tapes and cover tapes to support in packaging of components and devices for the Electronic Industry.

Futari India started off with two machines and a handful of manpower, with our partner Mr Saga leading the company. Establish MNCs like Foxconn, BYD are our first customers, with many more to come.

Through a small and lean workforce. Futari is able to deliver and give very competitive pricing and services to our customers. Customer satisfaction is our main objective.
